Songs With The Same Chords Throughout

In an effort to improve my rhythm skills on guitar, I have been focusing on songs with the same chords throughout as the best songs to learn for rhythm since I only have to think of a single chord progression and strum pattern. Here, I have chosen some of the best songs to learn and have included videos with the chord progressions so you don’t need to switch back and forth between tabs on your computer or phone.

Using Easy Two Chord Songs To Help Improve Rhythm

If any song can help you focus on a specific rhythm and not have to think too much about chord changes, it’s the song “Horse with no Name”. From start to finish, this song just uses the Em and the Horse chord, which is just your index finger on the second fret of the top string and the second finger on the 2nd fret of the G string. Another tune to look at that only uses 2 chords is Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”, which only uses G and C. 3 Chord Songs With The Same Chords Throughout

Radiohead’s “High and Dry” uses just the same chords throughout F#m11, the Asus chord which is just an Em on the D and G strings, and E-E. The rhythm changes slightly in the verse, but it’s mostly the same progression throughout. However, the beginning bit is a little tricky.

The second of our 3 chord songs with the same chords throughout is “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd which is also the same as “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon whose music was popularised by Linda Ronstadt in the Seventies and Kid Rocks song “All Summer Long” from 2008.

4 Chord Songs with the same chords throughout

“Round Here” is a popular song by the American rock band Counting Crows. One of the unique features of this song is that it only uses four chords – C, D, Em, and G – throughout the entire song. The song’s chord progression is C-D-Em-G, and it has become a popular example of a four-chord song in modern music. Despite its simple structure, “Round Here” is known for its emotional and introspective lyrics, which explore themes of loneliness, isolation, and the search for identity.

How can you do a piece on 4 chord songs with the same chords throughout without mentioning the song written and preformed by Bob Dylan and covered by Hendrix “All Along the Watchtower” which uses a 4 chord progression of Am – G – F – G since the G chord is repeated it’s a 4 chord song with just 3 chords in a way so it’s one of the best songs to learn to help develop a rhythm. Here is an interesting cover of “All Along the Watchtower with Chords” and Harmonica from a YouTuber called Bob Tullip
